Tickets Purchased, Visa in Process

Travel to Liberia very much becomes reality when our tickets are purchased, visas requested, malaria meds ordered and the heap of "stuff" begins to grow on our bedroom floor in preparation for packing. What was overwhelming the first few trips has become routine and we know the drill.

What is not routine is the heart preparation that is required to be ready and willing to respond to whatever situation God places before us. I posted a few weeks ago that I was prompted to share with older women about the influence that they could have on their children. My mom invited me to a women's seminar last Saturday and to my surprise (or lack thereof, because that's how God works) the speaker spent the afternoon on the topic of being a woman of influence, complete with a book written on the topic. What a confirmation and blessing to have additional material to build around the topic. All that being said though, we continue to ask God to have His way with us and keep us flexible and alert to how He is moving.

So here's how you can pray over the next few weeks:

  • While we are thankful for the joy and peace that resides in our home, it is chaotic and there are many challenges stretching us in new ways. I would like to have Momo, Steve and Michal's fall college plans settled before leaving. Momo and Steve are starting from scratch and it's a good deal of effort to complete applications, financing, course schedules, etc.

  • We have some funding available for ministry, however, could use additional support to assure we can be flexible to minister as we see needs along the way.

  • That our hearts will be in tune with where God will use us so that we can be prepared with the beginnings of the "right" material to share. Also, that God would give us special insight how to share within their culture.

  • For wisdom on knowing how to best approach the visa situation for Rufus.

  • For our friends in Liberia as they not only prepare for our time in country, but also for other teams traveling this summer.
While many of you will or have received our communication about the trip, for those that have not and wish to contribute toward the ministry needs in Liberia, you can do so by contributing (tax deductible) below:

Colossians 1:9-11

9 So we have not stopped praying for you since we first heard about you. We ask God to give you complete knowledge of his will and to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding. 10 Then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord, and your lives will produce every kind of good fruit. All the while, you will grow as you learn to know God better and better. 11 We also pray that you will be strengthened with all his glorious power so you will have all the endurance and patience you need. May you be filled with joy.
